SSL certificates protect your website by encrypting data between your visitors and your server. They also display the secure https:// connection and padlock icon in the browser.
How to Enable SSL in cPanel
- Log in to your cPanel account.
- Go to the Security section.
- Click SSL/TLS Status.
- Select the domain or subdomain you want to secure.
- Click Run AutoSSL.
- Wait for the SSL certificate to install.
- Once completed, your website should be accessible using https://yourdomain.co.za.
Forcing HTTPS on Your Website
- In cPanel, go to Domains.
- Find your domain name.
- Enable Force HTTPS Redirect.
- Test your website by opening it with https://.
Important Notes
SSL may take a few minutes to activate. Your domain must also point correctly to the hosting server before SSL can be issued.
